All these pictures were taken at Ein-Avdat National park.
It is just south of Sede Boker kibbutz. The upper levels of the
Avdat Heights are made from strata of hard white Eocene limescale
interspaced with thin seams of flint. Underneath these layers is
softer rock, mainly clays. These differing types of rock, combined
with
seasonal errosion caused by rain and floods created the local sceanary.
