There's a great redwood forest just outside of Rotorua. Go there if you get the chance as there are some lovely walks through it. there would have been some smashing views back to the city as well if the weather had been nicer!

There's a couple of us wayward folk who jumped ship here - we're now on a bus south to Taupo to catch up with our next tour bus.
