Australia Diary 25 January 2002
Home

It's Australia day today. It celebrates the arrival of the first fleet to Australia. It was a glorious day with many things to see and eat! There was a spectacular exhibition of classic cars (most of them from the Sydney Motor Museum), Hyde park was given over to foods from around Australia (the sausage rolls where selling very well) and there was music everywhere.

Take pride in the flag (but you're going to have a white rectangle on your arm that hasn't tanned!)

Beautiful.

I think that this one is a little lost! Going to Peckham, on the Euston - Kensington route?

The best place to be on Australia day is in the Harbour.

There were fireworks at Darling Harbour that evening. I met up with Jen and the guys tonight to have a swift drink down in Darling Harbour. It gives you another chance to have a gander at them!

There's unfortunately not enough room to cram in all of the photos, so take a look at 26 January - night to see the rest of the Australia celebrations.

To tomorrow
