There was an impromptu drum circle tonight. A couple of the locals popped down and demonstrated their prowess on the African drums. The rhythms that were banged out were just stunning. Complex stories and tales intertwined and twisted through the beats. A few of the tunes I could play along with, but others were so tricky that I had no idea where to start! There was one particular beat that was played, unchanged, for over a quarter of an hour - and I still couldn't manage to play it!
