We drove around Manyeleti game reserve this morning with Garth. Again we saw lots of prey species, impala, water buck, gnu and loads of birds. We almost ran over a cheetah [Click to enlarge image]cheetah whilst driving past a massive lagoon looking for rhino. As if the sighting of cheetah a couple of days ago wasn't enough. This guy was perfectly happy to wander along in front of us until we got bored of him. I love cheetah. They are such a regal, beautiful animal. I couldn't get enough of watching him. Eventually, we had to say goodbye and search out some other critters. We said hello to a male hippo [Click to enlarge image]hippopotamus at his place who'd been in the wars a little further into the park. He wasn't overly impressed at his unwanted guests and gave us quite a display.

All too soon we had to head back to camp and then, for me, back to Pretoria. This safari has been simply stunning. One of the best things that I've done traveling. The pictures will be up here as soon as I can possibly manage it... done.

I've made it a point, deliberately not to recommend companies, but I'm gonna make an exception in this case. If you're going to South Africa, and you want to have one of the best safari experiences possible, then have a look at the Transfrontier Safaris website. It might not be quite as a luxurious safari, you might not see quite as many animals as mine, but I would have been as happy if I'd seen a quarter of the animals that I saw on this safari. The experience was out of this world.

To tomorrow
